PURPOSE:To allow measurement which is safe to all samples and has a sufficient quantitative characteristic by subjecting the sample in an absorbance cell which has a light transmission window plate stop the cell and is built with a reflecting mirror on the base of the cell to cooling liquefaction and heating liquefaction. CONSTITUTION:The reflecting mirror 3 is built into the bottom of the cell 2 and the window plate 1 which does not come into contact with the sample liquid is provided on the upper part of the cell 2. The sample which is gaseous at ordinary temp. is liquefied by putting a suitable refrigerant such as liquid nitrogen into a jacket 4 and cooling the cell. The sample which is solid at ordinary temp. is liquefied by heating the jacket 4 with a high-temp. medium. The liquefied sample is supplied through a sample feed port 5 and is subjected to the measurement in the liquid state. The measurement of the absorbance in the liquefied state is possible in this way and since the measurement is made in the liquid state, the quantitative determination of trace components is possible; in addition, the absorbance is measured without entailing danger. |
