PURPOSE:To enable multipass printing by transferring image data corresponding to the sections of printed data-number dots by the processing routine of a ribbon end to another area and returning the transferred image data to the original area of an image buffer again after the ribbon end is recovered. CONSTITUTION:When a ribbon end is generated in a heat transfer printer, image data having an effect on the compensation of the printing hysteresis of a section not printed are transferred to a save area, and the area of an image buffer in which data previously saved in the save area are stored is cleared, thus correcting the compensation of printing hysteresis when the ribbon end is recovered subsequently and printing is started. When the ribbon end is recovered, data not printed are printed. The image data saved after printing is completed are restored in the area in which there are the image data, and data being printed can be used as they are no multipass printing. |
