CONSTITUTION:A small amount of acetylene black is added to powder of electrolytic manganese dioxide (gamma-type crystal structure), and upon uniformly mixed, the mixture is subjected to pressure molding on a Ni-meshed grid. As a positive electrode this is combined with a mating lithium electrode and immersed in an electrolyte obtained by dissolving hexafluoric lithium arsenate in propylene carbonate, wherein current is supplied in the direction in which lithium is electroeducted onto a manganese dioxide pos. electrode. Then the manganese dioxide electrode is taken out, washed with propylene carbonate several times, removed from the grid, and crushed. The resultant powder is put in a crucible and heated in an electric furnace under 350 deg.C for 5hrs. |
