The present invention relates to compounds of the formula <CHEM> or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof wherein R is alkyl of 12 carbon atoms, alkenyl of 12 carbon atoms having from 1 to 4 -CH=CH- groups when the carbon adjacent to R is saturated and from 1 to 2 -CH=CH- groups when the carbon adjacent to R is unsaturated, aryl, heterocyclo, alkoxyalkyl wherein the alkyl groups have 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or aryloxyalkyl wherein the alkyl group has 1 to 6 carbon atoms R<1> is hydrogen, lower alkyl, or a pharmaceutically acceptable cation. These compounds are inhibitors of leukotriene A4(LTA4) hydrolase.
