The compsns. contain low doses of dioxopiperidine derivs. of formula (I), in which R1 is H or 1-4C alkyl; n is 1 or 2; R2 is H or methyl, one R2 being H when n is 2; R3 is H or 1-2C alkyl; R4 is 1-2C alkyl; R5 and R6 are H or methyl; m is 0-3; each Y is in m-or p-position and is OH, 1-2C alkyl, alkoxy or hydroxyalkyl, halogen or CF3, with the condition that hydroxy and alkoxy are not in p-position, mixed with usual vehicles or diluents, in amount of 28-2800 parts per part active ingredient. They have ansiolytic activity in doses of 10-7 to 10-1 mg./kg., some of the cpds. being 10 orders more potent than diazepam. Specially pref. is 3-(3'-methoxy phenyl) 3-(3''-N,N-dimethylaminopropyl) 4,4-dimethyl 2,6-dioxopiperidine. |
