PURPOSE:To achieve stable operation of an ultrasonic motor by performing positional securement of an annular vibrator comprising an annular resilient body and an annular piezoelectric body through function of a hook and a ring thereby making the contacting state and frictional force between the vibrator and a moving body constant. CONSTITUTION:A vibrator 3 comprises a resilient body 1 and a piezoelectric body 2 while a moving body 7 comprises a resilient body 6 and a friction member 5. A face tape 14 is applied onto the vibrator 3 then the vibrator 3 is secured onto a base 4 applied with the face tape 15 through a ring 14a and a hook 15a. AC electric field is applied onto the piezoelectric body 2 to excite elastic traveling wave having one-order flexible vibration in the radial direction of the vibrator 3, then it is employed as drive force for rotating the moving m body 7. The vibrator 3 is secured in a space formed between the base 4, the ring 14a and the hook 15a by means of the ring 14a and the hook 15a of the face tapes 14, 15. By such arrangement, rotation is regulated and positional securement is made without preventing micro vibration of the vibrator 3, resulting in stable contacting state between the resilient member 1 and the friction member 5. |
