Compounds of formula (I) : <CHEM> wherein X is hydroxy, hydrogen, cyano, -CH2NH2, or formyl; R is hydrogen when X is cyano, CH2NH2 or formyl, or R is -CHO or -CH2R<1> when X is hydrogen or hydroxy; R<1> is -O-R<2>; -S-R<2>; -N-R<2>(R<3>); or -N<+>-R<2>(R<3>)(R<4>), R<2>, R<3> and R<4> are the same or different and are selected from H, C1-6 alkyl, C2-6 hydroxyalkyl, C1-6 dialkylamino, C1-6-dialkylaminoC2-6 alkyl, C1-6 alkylamino-C2-6 alkyl, C2-6 aminoalkyl or a 3-7 member unsubstituted or substituted carbocyclic ring; and when R<1> is -N-R<2>(R<3>), the R<2> and R<3> groups may be combined together to form a ring and pharmaceutically acceptable salts, hydrate and solvates thereof, processes for their preparation, intermediates used in their preparation, pharmaceutical compositions containing them and their use in therapy as inhibitors of tumor cell growth. |
