A device for defining a hinge seat in a cabinet or a door of a refrigerator, freezer or similar appliance, comprising a member (1) to be introduced into a suitable seat (2) in the cabinet or the door, this member (1) comprising two hollow cylindrical elements (3, 4) arranged coaxially one (4) in the other (3), at a small distance from each other in order to define a space (13) between them, a passage (14) being provided to connect the space (13) to the cavity (15) of the internal element (4) which is intended to receive a member of the hinge; at least one opening (11) being also provided in the outer element (3) to make it possible for the air present in the cabinet or the door to pass through the space (13) and the cavity (15) of the inner element (4) and to reach the outside of the cabinet or the door during the injection of the insulating material into one of these latter.
