PURPOSE: To make components not participating in a filter process inexpensive by producing the components by using plastic by injection molding. CONSTITUTION: This fluid filter is provided with a plastic housing 80 having an open end 84 and a closed end 82, a filter element 95 in this housing 80, a closure member 100 which has an aperture 106 and is made of plastic bonded to the open end 84 of the housing 80 and connecting means, i.e., an edge 85 and a groove 18, respectively formed on the housing 80 and the closure member 100 engaging the housing 80. Namely, the plastic housing 80 and the plastic closure member 100 are injection molded and after the filter element 95 is housed in the housing 80, these two components are coupled to each other by spin welding using the edge 85 and the groove 118, by which the fluid filter is produced. This fluid filter is mounted at an engine to filter the oil from the engine and to return the oil to the engine. Consequently, the inexpensive fluid filter may be manufactured.
