PURPOSE:To make it possible to reduce the slide resistance in a lateral load condition by disposing a vibrator giving a reverse piezoelectric effect, so that it expands and contracts in the substantially radial direction and makes contact with a piston rod. CONSTITUTION:In a cylinder device, a vibrator 21 giving a reverse piezoelectric effect is disposed in a slide contact part of a rode guide in a cylinder body 10 so that it radially expands and contracts and makes contact with a piston rod 14. When the vibrator 21 is applied with a periodic electric field, it radially expands and contracts so as to vibrate. The vibration thereof is transmitted to the rod guide 13 of the piston rod 14, and accordingly, a part in the vicinity of the guide 13 also vibrates slightly. As a result, the affection by a friction or an adhesion between the rod guide 13 and the piston rod 14 which occurs by a lateral load can be reduced, thereby it is possible to reduce the slide resistance. |
