PURPOSE:To enhance electrophotographic physical and mechanical durability and to prevent development of memory remaining after pause by incorporating an electric charge transfer material having an oxidation potential of >=0.6V and a specified hydrotalcite type compound in the surface layer of a photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body contains the charge transfer material having an oxidation potential of >=0.6V selected from hydrazone, stilbene, carbazole, pyrazoline, and oxazole derivatives and the like, and they enhance resistance to corona discharge products, and stabilize electrophotographic characteristics, such as sensitivity, resistance to residual potential and image unsharp. It also contains one of the hydrotalcite type compounds represented by general formula I and they prevent development of the memory remaining after pause which is liable to be caused by using the charge transfer material high in oxidation potential, and its effect can be improved by adding an antioxidant, such as phenol type, amine type, phosphorus type, and sulfur type, in an amount of 0.1 - 10wt.%. |
