PURPOSE: To prepare a clathrate product having a high content of the clathrate by preparing a dispersion of liquid water in a continuous fluid phase comprising a gas-hydrate-forming material to form a clathrate of the gas-hydrate-forming material and water. CONSTITUTION: This preparation comprises: agitating a liquid suspension of 20% water in an edible vegetable oil with a Silverthorn agitator so that water droplets having a 50 to 300 μm average particle diameter are formed in the suspension; in that state, emulsifying the suspension in the presence of a water- in-oil type emulsifier to form an emulsified liquid suspension; then, pressurizing the emulsified liquid suspension to 30 atm at a temp. at which no gas hydrate (e.g. CO2 gas-hydrate) is formed; thereafter, lowering the temp. of the pressurized liquid suspension to a <=10 deg.C temp. which depends on the conditions of gas- hydrate formation or ice crystal nucleus formation, to form a gas-hydrate; and after completing this gas-hydrate formation or after freezing the residual water, physically removing a finely-divided gas-hydrate/ice mixture from the oil suspension by filtration or the like; wherein the suspensoid-supporting liquid oil is reused in the next cycle. |
