PURPOSE:To improve the read accuracy of picture information by adjusting the angle of the axis of the light beam made incident on a rotating deflection mirror attended with the main scanning so as to cancel the shading characteristic measured in advance. CONSTITUTION:Read processing is applied to an accumulating phosphor sheet 2 with no recording applied thereto prior to the reading of radiant ray picture information or the like, a control circuit 43 stores a fluctuation characteristic of a read picture signal Sd attended with the main scanning into an internal memory and the angular position for each main scanning position of mirrors 13, 14 is calculated to cancel the fluctuation. Then the control circuit 43 adjusts the angular position of the mirrors 13, 14 attended with main scanning when the radiant ray picture information is read actually from the accumulating phosphor sheet 2 and even if the optical path of a laser beam 10 is deviated from the center axis of the cylinder face so as to make the main scanning line linear. Thus, the deterioration in the picture information read accuracy due to shading is prevented. |
