<p>PURPOSE: To detect a buried piping by, while moving an antenna assembly an the ground, rotating it around the axis facing the ground. CONSTITUTION: As an assembly 10 moves along a course, a wheel encoder 17 continuously generates the first data pulse. An antenna assembly 18 is rotated continuously with a motor 22, and a shaft encoder 28 generates the second data pulse. These pulses are, after appropriately converted by a pulse generator 30, transmitted from a transmission element of the assembly 18. The pulse is, after emitted from the antenna transmission element, scattered by objects which are on the ground or buried under the ground, and a slight part of reflected electromagnetic energy hits an antenna reception element so that reception data is forced. The data is sent from the antenna to a sampling unit 32, and made to pass through a law pass filter 78 and then sent to a microcomputer 90 from an A/D converter 38 through a bus 81, so that the control signal for various processes is treated by a microprocessor of the microcomputer 90.</p> |
