PURPOSE:To make possible the recording of data at high speed when in the continuous mode by providing a stopping means which stops a scanning means at a position where the ink discharge by a recording head used during recording is completed. CONSTITUTION:The scanning movement amount of a recording head unit with a recording head 1 corresponding to the kind of recording liquid, for instance, ink color becomes variable in accordance with a recording color used for certain recording. Then, a scanning means 24 which moves the head unit in a specified direction against a material to be recorded on is stopped by a stopping means 18 at a position where the discharge of ink used for recording by the recording head is completed. Consequently, after the completion of the discharge action by the recording head, it is possible to return the head unit to its original position immediately and achieve the continuous recording action at high speed. |
