PURPOSE: To easily assemble a ferromagnetic seal with a small number of processes by forming at least one pole piece mounted on a magnet of a material to be directly attracted to the magnet without using an additional adhesive. CONSTITUTION: Inner surfaces of pole pieces 40, 42 are extended through an inner surface 20, the inner surface forms two air gapes relative to a shaft 1, ferromagnetic fluids 26, 28 are kept therein to form a magnetic circuit 30 of a closed loop. This seal, different from a conventional seal, uses pole pieces 40, 42 formed of an epoxy resin in which a ferromagnetic material is mixed in place of a metallic pole piece, and no adhesive layer is present since the epoxy resin is directly adhered a magnet surface. Thus, conventional manufacturing processes of applying an adhesive and mounting the metallic pole piece on a magnet are eliminated. In addition, a void part and bubbles in the adhesive are removed to improve the safety of the seal. |
