PURPOSE:To utilize characteristics of active carbon fibers and enable repeated reuse of the active carbon fibers and efficient removal of colored ingredients in liquors by flowing the liquors through an apparatus of a construction in which a cartridge having the active carbon fibers mounted therein is housed in the interior of an outer vessel. CONSTITUTION:The above-mentioned apparatus for treating liquors is constructed by arranging a cartridge (A) having active carbon fibers 4 (hereinafter referred to as ACF) mounted as adsorption elements perpendicularly or tilted at <=25 deg. to the perpendicular direction in the interior of an outer vessel 14. Although any of PAN-based, phenolic resin-based, rayon-based and pitch- based ACF may be used, ACF having the average pore diameter within the range of 30-50Angstrom and a pore volume within the range of 0.5-1.5cc/g is preferred. The ACF can be used in the form of cloth, felt, cut fibers, etc. The adsorption treatment is carried out at <=25 deg.C and regeneration of the ACF after the adsorption with high-temperature water is preferably performed at 105-180 deg.C. |
