STABILIZATION OF ISOTHIAZOLONE SOLUTION

PURPOSE:To provide a stabilization process giving an isothiazolone solution stabilized over a long period and useful as a bactericidal and fungicidal agent applicable without giving undesirable effect to the object by dissolving isothiazolone in a solvent composed of a specific compound. CONSTITUTION:An isothiazolone of formula I (Y is 1-12C alkyl, 2-12C halogen- substituted alkenyl or alkynyl, aryl, etc.; R is H, halogen or 1-4C alkyl) is stabilized by mixing with one or more compounds selected from the compound of formula II [X is -CH2OCH2- or -(CH2)-; n is 0-4; Z1 and Z2 are -OR- or -OCR (R is 1-4C alkyl)], formula III, formula IV and formula V as a solvent. The amounts of the isothiazolone and the solvent in the solution are 0.1-20wt.% and 99.9-80wt.%, respectively.
