PRODUCTION OF POLYOLEFIN FIBER

PURPOSE:To obtain an ultrafine fiber web free from a polymer mass by fiberizing a mixture of a polyolefin with an organic filler readily soluble in an extracting liquid under specific conditions and then extracting and removing the organic filler with the extracting liquid. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of a polyolefin with an organic filler capable of uniformly dispersing into the polyolefin under melting of the polyolefin and readily soluble in an extracting liquid is heated and melted in an extruder 3. The above-mentioned mixture adjusted to 10-200g/10min (at 190 deg.C, under 0.325 load) melt index and <=100000cp melting viscosity (at 200 deg.C) is discharged from an orifice 5 of nozzle 4 and simultaneously heated gas is jetted from a gas jetting slit to form a continuous web 10 of ultrafine fiber group. The organic filler is subjected to extracting and removing treatment by the extracting liquid.
