A small herical coil sub-spring (2) is attached to the outside of a main spring (1) whose diameter is smaller than that of the sub- spring, while having larger elasticity than that of the sub-spring. An upper cup (3) and a lower cup, which are separatable in the axis direction, are placed between the sub and the main spring. The lower end of the main spring can be inserted into the lower ring of the lower cup and the upper end of the subspring can be inserted into the upper ring of the upper cup. The upper end of the main spring and the lower end of the subspring are bolted to the vehicle body and the vehicle shaft respectively so that the spring is able to be compressed and expanded in proportion to acting load.
