PURPOSE: To surely perform the labeling with a simple structure by providing a plurality of vacuum passages in open communication with an outer surface of a cylindrical vacuum drum and equally spaced around the vacuum drum, and a drum for supplying the pressure sensitive labels to the vacuum drum at a predetermined feed speed. CONSTITUTION: A labeling device 10 is provided with a conveyor 16 for conveying the bottles 14 at specific intervals, and a plurality of vacuum passages 22 in open communication with an outer surface 20 of a cylindrical vacuum drum 18 and equally spaced around the drum. It is further provided with a means for delivering the labels 12 to the vacuum drums 18 from a label delivering port on a delivering drum 24, and the labels 12 are adhered to a web 26 to be supported. At a label peeling position 50 on the vacuum drum 18 a separating plate 48 for absorbing the labels 12 in vacuum for separating the same from the web 26 is provided, and the label 12 transferred on the vacuum drum 18 and sucked at a label application position 58 is moved from the drum 18 to the bottle 14 along the tangent direction to be applied to the bottle. |
