PURPOSE: To statically and dynamically support the mass of a shield body and reduce heat leakage to a magnet winding, by partially placing a spacer means into an opening equipped on a cylindrical coil former supported by a vacuum vessel and equipped with a superconductive coil. CONSTITUTION: All spacers 111, 117, and 121 are respectively placed in an opening avoiding to touch with a coil former except ends in the opening, and the length is made longer than the distance between the coil former and a neighboring shield body casing that effective heat passage of the spacer becomes larger than the distance between the coil former and the shield body. The spacer 111 withdrawn to almost flush with the outside of the coil former is extended outward using a slot for adjusting, which can approach from the inside of the coil former, to adjust the interval between the coil former and a outside cylinder of the radiation shield body. Though the spacer 117 protrudes from the coil former inward in the radius direction by a prescribed distance, it cannot be adjusted after the first mounting. The spacer 121 protrudes from the both ends of the coil former by a prescribed distance. |
