PURPOSE: To obtain a stabilized three-dimensional composite fabric preform by disposing a plurality of fabric plies between upper and lower templates that have substantially a desired preform shape and openings in two planes and joining the fabric plies through the template openings. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of fabric plies 3 are disposed between a pair of upper and lower templates 6 and 9 having nearly same shape as preform and having openings in respective planes 15 of the templates, and then, the fabric plies are joined through the openings. Further, both plies 3 are stitched together along periphery of the templates to form a stitched part 18. Thereby, edge strength is increased and edge of the preform is stabilized, and especially, a three-dimensional composite preform 21 is retained. |
