摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To decrease the number of photoresists and to decrease the number of photomasks so as to simplify the production process and to improve the yield thereof by providing an insulating layer consisting of a photosensitive resin layer a signal electrode and a picture element electrode and forming the insulating layer during the stage for forming both the signal electrode and picture element electrode. CONSTITUTION:A lower electrode 11 in common use as the transparent picture element electrode, a metallic layer 12 and the thin insulating film 13 are successively laminated on a transparent insulating substrate 10. Resist patterns are then formed on the insulating film 13. The insulating films 13, the metallic layer 12 and the picture element electrode 11 are etched continuously by using the same resist. The device is made into the structure protected with the photosensitive heat resistant resin 14. Further, the signal electrode 15 is deposited over the entire surface and the resist patterns 16 are formed thereon. The number of the photomasks is drastically decreased in this way and the simplification of the production stage and the improvement in the yield of the liquid crystal display device are attained.</p>
