PURPOSE:To automatically perform and inform the change-over connection of an ultrasonic wave transmitting-receiving circuit and to judge that a selected probe is not connected to any one of connectors by operating the switch for confirming the selected probe when said probe is held. CONSTITUTION:When a probe 1A is selectively used, the switch 4 for confirming said probe is pushed to input a confirming signal S1 to an I/O port 7 through the probe connector 3A of the apparatus main body 2 having the probe 1A connected thereto. A CPU8 reads said signal to judge that the confirming signal S1 is inputted to the probe connector 3A, that is, the confirming switch 4 of the probe 1A is pushed. By this method, the CPU8 controls a connector change- over device 5 to connect an ultrasonic wave transmitting-receiving circuit 6 to the probe connector 3A and allows the lamp 9A provided to the connector selection key 11A of an operating panel 10 to light. When the ultrasonic wave transmitting-receiving circuit 6 is connected to the probe connection 3A from the beginning, the lamp 9A is turned ON and OFF. |
