PURPOSE:To facilitate moulding of a wire harness, by butting a movable moulding die against a fixed moulding die with its groove holding an insert therein for mating respective grooves formed in both moulding dies with each other to be closed, and then injecting urethane into the closed groove portion so that it is foamed and cured. CONSTITUTION:An insert 7 is placed in a groove 5 on a zone thereof in such a condition as allowing a leg part 9 to have abutted on the bottom face of the groove 5 in a fixed moulding die 1, so that an axial portion 8 may be located on the central axis of a passage being formed when the fixed moulding die 1 is mated at its groove 5 with a movable moulding die 2 at its groove 6. In this condition, urethane is injected into the passage to be foamed and cured. As a result of this, a moulded product corresponding to the wiring pattern of a wire harness is formed for exposing the head of a leg part 9 to the surface of the moulded product over its total length. The insert 7 may be allowed to be taken out of the moulded product by pushing it open from a place to which the leg part exposes the head. A protector with a space inside is formed by taking the insert 7 out of the moulded product. |
