PURPOSE:To lower the temperature of a hot processing by adding predetermined amounts of Cu and Ga to an R-Fe-B cast magnet having a given composition or only Ga. CONSTITUTION:First, the title magnet comprises 8-30% of R, 2-10% of B and 0.01-5% of Ga, with a residual part substantially comprising Fe, and formed into a magnetic anisotropic product by hot processing. Ga is to lower the temperature of hot processing and conspiquously improve coercive force. The former effect is considered to originate from a specific property that a melting point of Ga is about 30 deg.C. Second, the title magnet comprises 8-30% R, 2-10% B, 3% or less of Cu, and 0.01-5% of Ga, all in atomic %, with a residual part substantially comprising Fe. In the cast magnet, Cu plays an important roll for the manifestation of coercive force. Further, if Cu, which has an about 1080 deg.C melting point, is added, it is distributed to an intergranular Nd rich phase to more or less lower the temperature of the hot processing for the R-Fe-B cast magnet. |
