COMPARTMENTED GAS INJECTION APPARATUS

PURPOSE: To maintain the uniform flow rate of a mixture composed of particle solids and gas by providing the device with a convergent wall section made of porous material, introducing this mixture into a first containing means having a port at its vertex and injecting pressurized gas into the closed compartments on the outer side of the convergent wall section. CONSTITUTION: The mixture of the granular solids and gas released from a holding vessel device to an accepting reactor is introduced into the first containing means 8 which has the convergent wall section 12 forming the portion formed of the porous material and has at least one port 17 for releasing the mixture at its vertex. At least the two closed compartments 18 and 19 to isolate the respective regions are formed on the outer side of the convergent wall section 12 of the first containing means 8. Gaseous fluids are respectively selectively injected form pressurization sources 20 and 21 under pressurization into the compartments 18 and 19 and the mixture is released from the first containing means 8. Consequently, the uniform mass flow rate of the mixture to a vaporizer is maintained and the generation of a heating insufficient zone and an overheating zone in the vaporizer is prevented.
