The present invention relates to a speed varying pulley including a support component 14, a movable cheek 7 and elastic means. According to the invention, the elastic means 10 are interposed with clearance between two limiting components 7, 14-28 carried by one of the support component 14/movable cheek 7 constituents, the said limiting components each having a support bearing surface 29, 30 for contact with the elastic means respectively for the extreme advance configuration and extreme retracted configuration, so that the elastic means 20 are mounted so as to tilt between the said bearing surfaces 29, 30.
