PURPOSE:To rapidly detect the generation of a special brain wave without failing to notice the same by a method wherein data subjected to A/D conversion is continuously and repeatedly stored in a buffer and, when a predetermined amount of data are stored, detection processing is performed and the continuity of the final part of the buffer and the head part thereof is also secured. CONSTITUTION:The brain wave data subjected to A/D conversion in an A/D conversion part 52 is continuously and repeatedly stored in the final address Be of a buffer 53 from the head address As thereof. An operation start part 54 starts a gradient calculation part 55 at each time when buffers A53a, B53b are filled with new data to start the detection processing of cluster slow alpha- waves. The gradient of a regression curve duo to a method of mobile least squares is used to detect the cluster slow alpha-waves on condition that a plurality of peaks are continuously observed. The gradients of (N-1) sample points in the vicinity of the final address Be of the buffer 53 are calculated using (N#-1) data in the vicinity of the head address As of the buffer 53. By this method, the continuity of the final address part of the buffer 53 is secured. |
