PURPOSE:To enable both new shaping methods for various gels and reduction in glass production cost by shaping a solidified gel with a cutter in producing glass according to a sol-gel method. CONSTITUTION:A sol liquid using fine silica particles is used and gelatinized with a mold to produce glass by a sol-gel method. In the process, a gel 11 shaped with a cutter 1 is used. A cutter having a diamond tool is preferably used as the cutter. |
