A movable decorative article, e.g. representing an animal figure, includes an elongate central core 74 which is arranged for rotation about a generally lengthwise axis and either carries cams 128 or has bent or cranked portions 78a for moving parts of the article, e.g. 102, 104. The parts may be loosely mounted on the core for relative movement when the core rotates, or may themselves mount pivotal items (e.g. limbs) which are moved by the cams.
