A superconductive magnet device which, at the time of quenching, protects the superconductive coils that constitute a superconductive magnet divided into a plurality of sections. A superconductive magnet circuit includes series pairs of superconductive coils (1a) (1b) and (2a) (2b) that are connected in series symmetrically with respect to a self-magnetic shield (6). These pairs of coils (1a) (1b) and (2a) (2b) are connected in parallel with their respective protective devices (3a) and (3b). If the voltage across any pair of coils to be protected becomes greater than a predetermined value, its associated protective device (3a) or (3b) protects the pair of coils. When the superconductive coils (1a) (1b) and (2a) (2b) are quenched, therefore, neither unbalanced electromagnetic force nor local electromagnetic force develops for the self-magnetic shield (6), and the support structure for the superconductive coils and the self-magnetic shield can be simplified.
|
