The invention relates to a lock intended especially for prison doors and safe doors, with change-over blocking tumblers (7) which are mounted vertically adjustably on the bolt (5) and which, during the unlocking of the bolt (5), can be fixed to a holding pin (8) arranged on the lock case (1). During the locking operation, the blocking tumblers (7) cooperate with a locking tumbler (9 and 10) of two locking-tumbler sets which are mounted on guide pins (11), arranged on the lock case (1), so as to be movable transversely to the direction of movement of the bolt (5) and which are each loaded by a tumbler spring (14) in the direction of the tumbler channel (12). In order to allow a proper opening of the lock even in the event of a spring break, two sets of blocking tumblers (7) are arranged separately one above the other and cooperate respectively with a locking tumbler (9 and 10) of the two locking-tumbler sets. The locking tumblers (9, 10) respectively cooperating in pairs, but actuated independently of one another by the front bit and rear bit of the key respectively, form a common tumbler channel (12) and are connected to one another, with a clearance being maintained for a relative movement between associated locking tumblers (9, 10). <IMAGE>
