Filtration of underground water - involves filter pipe made from stack of rings of rhomboid cross=section

The filter pipe is for filtering underground water as it flows into a well. The filter pipe is constructed from rings of triangular or rhomboid cross-section placed on upon another. Each ring (1) has a number of bosses (5) which hold the rings at the required spacing. The ring cross-section is arranged so that one disgonal is vertical and the other is horizontal. The ratio of the horizontal diagonal to the vertical diagonal lies between 1:1 and 1:4. The rings (1) are injection moulded in thermoplastic material. USE - Filtration of underground water.
