摘要 Fuel injection systems of this type are provided for internal combustion engines which are used in vehicles and are therefore subject to exacting requirements with regard to accurate and fault-free fuel metering. Known systems have a component cost. It is not possible to determine the actual value of the fuel injection quantity. They have the inherent disadvantage that vapour bubbles occurring in low-boiling fuels can interrupt the fuel injection. In order to overcome the said disadvantages the new fuel injection system has the characteristics that the actual value sensing system is formed by a measuring cylinder with free piston, which divides the measuring cylinder into two chambers, of which the first chamber is connected to the fuel feed system and by way of a solenoid valve forming the metering system to the return system, and the second chamber by way of control bores connects a rotating distributor, forming the control device, either to the fuel feed system or to an injection line assigned to each cylinder of the internal combustion engine. The new fuel injection system can supply the individual cylinders of the internal combustion engine with fuel. The start and end of injection can be varied in order to achieve optimum exhaust, consumption and power output values over wide ranges.
