The plug has a contact carrier (3) supporting a pair of contact pins (1), each of which has an integral crimping element (5) for crimping to a lead wire with a cross-section of between 0.5 and 2.5 sq. mm, e.g. 1.0 sq./mm. The crimping is effected via a crimping block (6) integral with the contact carrier (3) adjacent each contact pin (1), with a further crimping block provided by the contact carrier (3) for a protection contact. Each contact pin (1) is hollow and is formed via a rolling process. A slot at its top receives a locating projection formed integral with the contact carrier (3).
