At first, the flange part (9) is pushed over the fibre sleeve (4), and the fibre core of the optical waveguide (8) is subsequently adjusted, by means of inserting the fibre sleeve (4) in a holder, of larger diameter, of the connector socket (1), in the focal point of the ball lens (3) arranged on the end face side (5) in the holder. The flange part (9) is then pushed to the rear side (10) of the connector socket (1) and subsequently fusion-spliced to the fibre sleeve (4). In this way, the optical waveguide (8) is fixed in the direction of the Z axis. The lateral maladjustment (misalignment) of the fibre core is now corrected by displacing the arrangement consisting of fibre sleeve (4) and flange part (9) in the XY direction and the flange part (9) is fusion-spliced to the rear side (10) of the connector socket (1). <IMAGE>
