PURPOSE: To enable production of the photographic recording material at a high speed and a high drying temperature and to prevent occurrence of reticulation by using a gelatin having a part of its amino groups allowed to react with a monofunctional acid derivative in a protective layer and hardening this recording material with an instant hardener. CONSTITUTION: This photographic recording material comprises at least one silver halide emulsion layer containing the gelatin and at least one protective layer containing the gelatin derivative and the protective layer is located farther from a support than all the emulsion layers, and 30-90% of the amino groups of the gelatin are allowed to react with the monofunctional acid derivative and this recording material is hardened with the instant hardener, thus permitting the drying temperature and accordingly, a production speed to be enhanced, and occurrence of reticulation to be prevented.
