The bed comprises a frame (2) with a bed insert which has a perforated plate (5) designed to hold stoppers or plugs (7). These are displaceable in the plate holes (6) and can be pressed down in resilient manner. Where a rubber elastic mattress is placed on a support frame, the perforated plate and the stoppers inserted loosely in the plate holes can be set on the mattress. The plate and support frame can be braced together by screw connections (8).
