METHOD FOR THE SURFACE TREATMENT OF WASTE BLOCKS HAVING A LOW PERMEABILITY

Monolithic rubbish dump surfaces, formed up with concrete mortar and having a permeability coefft. of less than 10 m/sec., and contg. components which can be washed out by water, are treated by a sprinkling process. Over a period of 8 to 40 days the dump surface is sprinkled with water, to a aq. solution contg. at a rate of between 0.3 and 0.7 cu.m per sq. of surface. The solution is directed partly or wholly through a closed circuit. The sprinkling is followed by water rinsing.
