<p>An electrical connector for a printed circuit board has a housing (10) with a plurality of electrical contacts (11, 12, 13) therein. At least one of the electrical contacts (12) is adapted (14) to form a press fit connection with a plated through hole (15) of a printed circuit board (16). At least one other of the electrical contacts (11, 13) is adapted to form a high pressure connection with the surface of the printed circuit board. The high pressure connection is via a radiussed contact region (18, 19, Figure 1) or a sharp edge (24, Figure 2); additional soldering is optional. Rows of, or intermingled, press fit and high pressure contacts can be provided. Plug (11, 12, 13) and/or socket contacts are provided in the housing (10). <IMAGE></p> |
