The present invention relates to a novel self-adhesive matrix for the transdermal administration of an active agent. This matrix is characterised in that it comprises: a) 30 to 50 parts by weight of ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer, b) 20 to 45 parts by weight of higher aliphatic alcohol, c) 5 to 20 parts by weight of cellulose derivative, d) 1 to 20 parts by weight of an ester of a fatty acid and of a polyhydric alcohol, and e) 0.1 to 20 parts by weight of transdermally administrable active agent.
