<p>An automobile seat assembly is provided with an attachment mechanism for fixing the seat back (14) to the seat base (12) that effects wedging engagement between support arms (20) of the seat base and support brackets (26) of the seat back by forming the arms and brackets as complementary tapered channels. A secondary locking device in the form of a spring detent (44) disposed between the arms and brackets operates to resist removal from the wedgingly engaged assembled position.</p> |
