New silica-based thiophilic adsorbents are obtained by silanizing silica, cleaving the resulting epoxy groups and reacting the product with divinylsulfone, followed by treatment with mercaptoethanol. Adsorbents have utility in HPL chromatography and in purification of proteins e.g. monoclonal antibodies and immunoglobulins. |
