PURPOSE:To obtain a protection method of printed matter based on an excellent water-proof and light-fast ink jet system by first applying a coating liquid containing acryl-urethane resin on the surface of an image which is recorded with water-soluble ink on a material to be recorded on and impregnating the image with said liquid, then attaching plastic film under pressure. CONSTITUTION:For the protection of an image recorded with water-soluble ink, especially using an ink jet system on a material to be recorded on, first a liquid containing acrylic-urethane resin is applied on a recording surface and the surface is impregnated with said liquid. The thickness of an overcoat layer consisting of a reaction product of acrylpolyol and an isocyanate compound to be used is 2 to 20mum. In addition, transparent film of thermoplastic resin such as polyethylene is used as plastic film to be attached to the overcoat layer under pressure. The recommendable pressure attaching temperature of plastic film is 60 to 150 deg.C. Even when the required part of the plastic film is saved by cutting the other part, no water seeps in from the end of the film. Therefore, the printed matter becomes highly water-proof and the operation to attach the plastic film under pressure becomes easier. |
