<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a color printer capable of preparing a hardcopy of an color image at high speed by providing linear light sources which sequentially light at an interval of a certain time and emit light of different wavelengths and a shutter array which allows each microshutter to pass light from a linear ray during lighting selectively to the first sheet side in response to an image signal. CONSTITUTION:As a result of the operation of an exposure section, for instance, linear light sources 16,18, 20 light at an interval of a certain time Ta, in order of R.G.B corresponding to said light sources, against image printing lines LN.... Then, each microshutter SH1, SH2...SHn of a shutter array 14 selectively opens by time(t) x i in response to an elementary image signal of red(R) while a red light source 16(R) is turned ON, in response to an elementary image signal of green(G) while a green light source 18(G) is turned ON and in response to an elementary image signal of blue(B) while a blue light source(B) is turned ON. Consequently, each color beam RGB modulated by an image signal is projected to an image printing line LN, and thereby, a microcapsule MC is exposed to the beam to record a latent image. Next, printing paper 10 is fed by a single pitch, and the following image printing line LN+1 becomes to the shutter array 14. Thus the beam is projected to the image printing line LN+1 repeatedly in the same manner.</p> |
