PURPOSE:To make possible color printing with a coloring material for a printing color other than a predefined one by setting an optional color code which indicates any printing color other than a predefined printing color and performing color printing using a coloring material designated by the optional color code. CONSTITUTION:A program which operates according to entered instructions is started by accessing RAN 11 and ROM 12 and thereby processings such as document preparation, pi-character creation and color printing control are executed. Before color printing, for instance, a print color for printed characters is designated in advance using a color control code. Here the print colors defined in a system are selected in black and red, and also as other color which indicates any other print color, totaling three colors. The color control code is counted as one character (control character), and stored in a document area 31 of the RAM 11. This color control code defines the color of a row of characters following said code for printing. When indicating a document, an appropriate color mark for the color control code is read from the ROM 12 and then is displayed with the row of documentary characters. |
