PURPOSE:To manufacture the title thin band having excellent magnetic characteristics by preparing an alloy thin band constituted of specific ratios of rare earth elements, iron, Co, B, Ti, etc., and having specified thickness and anisotropic orientation in the thickness direction. CONSTITUTION:The molten metal of an alloy expressed by RuFevCowBxMy where R denotes one or more kinds among Nd, Pr, Ce, Dy and Tb and (Nd+Pr)/R>=0.7 is regulated, M denotes at least one kind among Ti, Zr, Hf, Ta, Mo, W, Al, Si, Ga, Zn and Cu, (u) denotes 11 to 18 atom%, (v) denotes (100-u-w-x-y) atom%, (w) denotes 0 to 30 atom%, (x) denotes 3 to 11 atom% and (i) denotes 0 to 3 atom% is heated to 1200 to 1450 deg.C and is rapidly cooled by a rotary roll into an alloy thin band. At this time, in the part to be brought into contact with the rotary roll, between the surface side and the back side of the band-shape molten metal, 1 to 15m/sec speed difference is produced to form an alloy thin band having 80 to 100mu thickness and >=70% anisotropic orientation in the thickness direction. In this way, the permanent magnetic alloy thin band having excellent magnetic characteristics can be obtd. |
