This process consists, between the final stages of mechanical manufacture of the bowl and of the finishing surface treatment, in driving the bowl in rotation, in surrounding substantially half of the bowl with means for depositing resin which are maintained with pressure on the bowl and fed with heat-polymerisable, single-component synthetic resin, until all the cavities of the bowl have been filled with this resin, placing the bowl in an oven ensuring the polymerisation of the resin and then in ensuring, by means of the polishing operation, the cleaning of the resin soiling on the spherical outer face and, finally, ensuring the finishing surface treatments. The device for making use of this process comprises means for deposition 5 matching substantially half of the bowl, coming into contact with the latter in a plane passing through the axis of rotation of the bowl, means 8 for moving the means for deposition 5 between a withdrawn position and a working position with pressure against the bowl, and means 9 for feeding these means of deposition with synthetic resin 11. <IMAGE>
